OUR SHOWS
SoHo House Hong Kong 2020
In October 2020, Xoloplastics held an show in collaboration with various plastic artists. The exhibition and auction was presented by Georgina Hilton, auctioneer for 'Christies'. Gemma Hayden Blest, Ghostmountainfield, Tyler Jackson Pritchard, Brendan Fitzpatrick, Amy Maria Tong, Sharyn Wortman, Marcel Heijnen and Ane Alfeiran intervened our recycled plastic triangle mosaics sent directly from the Xoloplastics workshop in Malinalco, State of Mexico, using different techniques.
BADA 2020
In February 2020, Xoloplastics participated in the BADA art fair in Mexico City with two murals: 'Camino Al Mictlán' was exhibited, a work created during "Inspire Miami" by artist Ane Alfeirán. The second mural was designed by the Xoloplastics team and it was created "live" throughout the three days of the art fair. We invited the public to build upon our mural by buying recycled triangle mosaics and placing them wherever they were inspired to do so to construct the final piece.
The design was inspired by the project's fight to build a more just, inclusive and conscious world.
Inspire Miami 2019
In December 2019, Xoloplastics exhibited its first mural during Art Basel Miami. The work “Camino al Mictlán” was created by the artist Ane Alfeirán, who intervened our recylced plastic triangle mosaics through an acrylic and vegetable polymer technique on recycled HDPE. The exhibition was presented in collaboration with Ralwins Art Gallery within “Inspire Miami”. The mural was formed throughout the duration of the fair and the public participated as part of the project by acquiring triangles that came together to finish the work.
A part of the proceeds went to our plastic collection programs and staff training. Another part covered the costs of the machinery and equipment necessary for the recycling processes and encouraged us to start the Xoloplastics projects in 2020.
